How tryout information will be shared

This year, the Rangers will be using TeamLinkt for tryout communication.

Each player/family will receive an invitation to join their TeamLinkt group. Once you are in the group, this is where you will receive:

  • tryout schedules
  • division-specific updates
  • reminders
  • communication from the tryout liaison

Tryout schedules will not be posted on the website. Families are asked to check TeamLinkt regularly, as schedules and updates will be shared there throughout the tryout period.

Attendance expectations

All tryout and evaluation sessions are important and players are expected to attend all scheduled sessions.

If a player is unable to attend an evaluation session, the absence must be communicated in advance through the appropriate process. Absences will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with Rangers regulations and tryout procedures.

Where a player is injured or ill, families must communicate this promptly and provide supporting medical documentation where required.

Communication expectations during tryouts

To support a fair and organized process, families are asked to follow the communication process in place during tryouts.

  • Questions about the overall tryout process may be directed to the appropriate Rangers contact
  • Tryout-specific updates and questions during the process should go through the designated liaison in TeamLinkt
  • Parents and players are asked not to contact coaches directly during tryouts

Important reminder

Please watch for your TeamLinkt invite and ensure notifications are turned on so you do not miss important updates.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work to provide a clear, fair and organized tryout process for all players and families.

Tryout Arrival Process:

Players are asked to arrive at the arena one hour in advance of their ice time and make their way to the Gloucester Rangers tryout desk to check-in.

Upon check-in at the first ice time, they will be given a numbered jersey and a pair of tryout socks. Players are expected to wear the dedicated tryout jersey and socks to each ice time.

All players and goalies MUST check in with the Gloucester Rangers desk before going to the locker rooms. Upon check-in they will receive their room assignments and any other information provided by the coach.

All players/goalies are asked to bring their own water bottle, pre-filled.

All tryout participants must ensure the proper paperwork is filled out prior to their first ice time - which includes registration with your home association.

Above all, our goal is to provide a safe environment for our players, coaches and volunteers. If your player must miss an ice time due to a health related issue, please notify your liaison in advance of the ice time. If your child does not turn up or decides to be absent from their tryout ice time, they will be deemed withdrawn from Gloucester Rangers tryouts process (unless they have a medical emergency or can provide a reason of their extenuating circumstances) which will then need to be cleared and approved by GRMHA President and VP Hockey Ops.
