2026-2027 Tryouts and Registration
The Gloucester Rangers hockey program is designed with a development-first approach. All teams take part in on-ice development and off-ice training. All players selected for a Rangers hockey team agree to participate in all team activities—including the mandatory off-ice training.
Players who are rostered with a Rangers team should anticipate the following costs:
Registration Fees: These are paid to the Rangers via the team and cover the costs of the ice, referees, etc.
- U9 - U18 $2,500
Team Fees: These are paid directly to the team to cover the parent-approved budget. The team fees range from $1,500 to $2,500, depending on tournament schedules, off-ice development, and other team costs.
On-Ice Equipment: Players are expected to adhere to the Rangers' on-ice dress code, which includes black gloves and a helmet. Rangers socks, jersey, and pant shells are purchased by each player:
- Jersey - home $125 and away $125 = $250 (includes name bar)
- Rangers Socks - home $25 and away $25 = $50
- Rangers Pant Shell - $55 (U11 and Up)
- Track Suit Jacket - $80
- Track Suit Pant - $60
- Dri-fit Shirt - $30
- Dri-fit Short - $30
Total Rangers Equipment = $555
Returning players may use jerseys and socks from previous years if they are in good shape.
Important U10 Registration Update
At this time, the number of U10 teams for next season has not yet been determined. This decision will be made following a GHA vote in April.
If your child is interested in playing U10 with the Rangers, we strongly encourage you to register now. Registration numbers will help inform discussions in advance of the vote and ensure we have an accurate picture of player interest.
If the outcome of the vote results is one U10 team only, any families who wish to withdraw their player from tryouts will be refunded.
2026-2027 Registration Information:
This year, the Gloucester Rangers will be running tryouts through TeamLinkt. Players will receive communications through TeamLinkt, and the tryout schedule will be uploaded to the platform and revised throughout tryouts. Families are asked to check their Teamlinkt profile regularly for the latest information.
Tryout costs and timelines are noted below. Each player is allotted at least 3 hours of ice time for evaluations. Please note: this may be spread over 1-hour, 1.5-hour, or 2-hour ice times.
Please be sure to review it before you begin the registration process.
Any questions about the tryout process should be directed to vpadmin@gloucesterrangers.com. Parents/players are asked to refrain from contacting the coaches directly.

Tryout Costs:
- $300 for all levels
Each player will receive the following:
- Tryout jersey and socks
- Minimum of 3 hours of evaluation
- Goalies: 1 x 1-hour goalie technical evaluations
Tryout Arrival Process:
Prior to the first tryout session, there will be a jersey pick-up night at Earl Armstrong Arena. The date and time for your age division will be posted in your TeamLinkt group.
Players are asked to arrive at the arena one hour in advance of their ice time and make their way to the Gloucester Rangers tryout desk to check-in.
All players and goalies MUST check in with the Gloucester Rangers desk before going to the locker rooms. Upon check-in they will receive their room assignments and any other information provided by the coach. Players are expected to wear the dedicated tryout jersey and socks to each ice time.
All players/goalies are asked to bring their own pre-filled water bottle.
Above all, our goal is to provide a safe environment for our players, coaches, and volunteers. If your player must miss an ice time due to a health-related issue, please notify your liaison in advance of the ice time. If your child does not turn up or decides to be absent from their tryout ice time, they will be deemed withdrawn from Gloucester Rangers tryouts process (unless they have a medical emergency or can provide a reason of their extenuating circumstances) which will then need to be cleared and approved by GRMHA President and VP Hockey Ops.
Each player is allotted a minimum of 3 hours of ice time for evaluations. Please note: this may be spread out over 1 hour, 1.5 hour, or 2 hour ice times.
If you have questions during tryouts, please contact your liaison directly through TeamLinkt. General questions may be forwarded to pr@gloucesterrangers.com.
