As we prepare for the upcoming Gloucester Rangers Minor Hockey Association Annual General Meeting, we are accepting nominations for the following elected Board of Directors positions for the 2026-2027 season:

Vice President, Administration
Elections are held at the GRMHA Annual Meeting for a two-year term. In accordance with the GRMHA Constitution, the President and Vice-President, Administration positions are elected in even years.
Candidate names for election or appointment must be submitted to the Secretary at least 30 days in advance of the Annual General Meeting. The slate of candidates for offices to be filled by election or appointment will be posted at least 15 days prior to voting.

Eligibility
- All GRMHA Board members must be members in good standing with the GHA and reside within GHA boundaries.
- No person shall be eligible to run for the position of President unless they have served two full terms, or two years, as an elected or appointed member of the GRMHA, GHA or a GHA member association board.
- No person may be elected to hold more than one Board position unless approved by a majority of the other Board members. No spouses or common-law partners may both occupy elected Board positions.
Voting
Voting for elected positions will be by secret ballot. All other voting will be by show of hands unless a majority of voting members decide on another method. Votes must be given personally and proxy voting is not permitted.
Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting are extended to:
- Elected and appointed members of the GRMHA Board;
- One vote per member of all GRMHA registered players, exercised by a parent, guardian or registered hockey player who is 18 years of age or older;
- Volunteers serving GRMHA who are not parents or guardians of a registered player.
Appointed Positions
Appointed positions are filled by majority vote of the elected Board members at the first Board meeting following the AGM. The method of voting is secret ballot, with a majority vote of those present and voting confirming the appointment.
Should no candidates be nominated for an elected or appointed position prior to the AGM, or in the event of a vacancy, the Board may appoint a member to fill the vacant position until the next AGM.
Board members who are to be elected or appointed shall be elected in accordance with the following procedures:
6.5.1 No person shall be eligible to run for the position of President unless he/she has served as an elected or appointed member or the GRMHA, GHA or GHA members association for two (2) years/terms.
6.5.2 Candidate names for election or appointment must be submitted to the Secretary at least thirty (30) days in advance of the Annual General Meeting. The slate containing the names or persons for the offices to be filled by election or appointment shall be posted not less than fifteen (15) days prior to the times at which the voting for elected positions is scheduled to be called at the meeting.
6.5.3 Appointed positions shall be filled by majority vote of the Elected Board members, at the first board meeting following the AGM. The method of voting shall be secret ballot with a majority vote of those present and voting confirming the appointment.
6.5.4 Should no candidates be nominated for an elected or appointed position prior to the AGM or in the event of a vacancy, the Board may appoint a Member to fill the vacant position until the next AGM.
Role of President
- Presides at all Board of Directors, Executive Committee, General and Annual meetings of the GRMHA.
- Exercises the authority of the GRMHA in cases of emergency, subject to ratification by the Board of Directors by the next Board meeting.
- Acts as the official spokesperson for the GRMHA as a member of the GHA Board of Directors.
- Serves as an ex officio member of all GRMHA committees.
- Does not vote except in the case of a tie, when casting the deciding vote, or during elections.
5.4 Vice-President, Administration
- Receives and processes all tryout applications, including payment, and ensures all players registered for tryouts have registered with their home association prior to their first ice session.
- Develops and manages official team lists and Specially Affiliated Player Lists.
- Coordinates completion of the GRMHA Fair Play Pledge by players, parents and coaches.
- Ensures the dissemination of information to all GRMHA members and their families.
- Arranges collection of players’ registration fees from member associations immediately after team lists are made.
Note on Vacancies
The Vice-President, Hockey Operations position is normally elected in odd years, along with Secretary and Treasurer. If this position becomes vacant, the Board may appoint a member to fill the position until the next AGM, or may choose to leave the position vacant, in accordance with the GRMHA Constitution.
