The U16 AA Rangers went on a road trip to Sudbury and came home with a Silver Stick Championship. The team faced three Northern opponents and one team from Waterloo. After a dominating 11-0 win in the opener the Rangers won the next 3 games by only a goal 4-3, 3-2 and 2-1 to advance to Sunday.  Battling both injuries and one equipment malfunction the Rangers won the Semi Final vs Soo Greyhounds 4-2 overcoming a 2-1 deficit after two periods of play.
In the finals the Rangers faced a very physical host Nickel City Sons team.  The team emerged as champs winning 3-0 even fighting off a very confusing 5-0 breakaway after a questionable “no goal” call against the Rangers.  Great goaltending and timely goals helped the team to victory and advance to the International Silver Stick finals in Newmarket in late January.
