The U16AA Rangers were in Oshawa in mid-November to compete in the Oshawa Challenge. They finished 3-0-1 in the round robin, good enough for 2nd place overall.  They had a rematch against the host Oshawa Generals team that they tied in the round robin and bested them 3-0 in the semis.  The shorthanded Rangers took on the unbeaten Toronto Eagles in the finals.
The Rangers clung to an early 1-0 lead for 2 periods, however, penalties finally caught up to them in the 3rd as the Eagles scored on a 5-3 power play.  The Rangers brushed themselves off, scored to take a 2-1 lead, and then added an empty netter to secure the gold!  Great goaltending, suffocating offensive pressure and timely goals were the keys to victory this weekend.
