Big Win at the Hillcrest Tournament for the Minor Bantam AA Team

Submitted by Elizabeth Rheaume

The Minor Bantam AA team traveled to the Hillcrest Tournament in Vaughn the weekend of Sept 15-17 and came away only allowing 4 goals scored on them in their five straight wins.
After playing a few exhibition games undefeated the boys were looking forward to some real games.  They came out flying and never touched the ground till the last whistle on the Sunday in the finals.  In their first game, they beat the North York Knights 7-0, and then took on the host Hillcrest Summits and handed them a 6-0 loss.  In their next game on Saturday they played the Scarborough Bruins, the team that won this tournament in 2006. They proved to be stronger but the Rangers handed them their first loss of the tournament winning 5-3.  In the Sunday morning semis, the boys found the net.often....8-0 was the final score.  It was a long wait to the finals and the boys spent some time at the Vaughn Mall visiting the biggest hockey store in Canada.  It was a close game as the boys looked tired but pulled a 2-1 win out.
